Chele Canter attended the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art to learn the foundations of drawing and painting after stumbling on her ability to draw. As she has been known to say, "I had no idea I could draw.... I just picked up a pencil one day".
Chele is a realist artist drawn to the quiet, meaningful moments that define our lives. Her work is rooted in observation and emotion, often inspired by personal encounters and photographic references. Whether it's the endearing eyes of a family dog or a lioness basking in the sun, she strives to capture what feels most true: the story beyond the picture.
Chele's art focuses on realism not just in form, but in feeling. Each line and brushstroke aims to reflect the honesty of life as it happens.
