Custom Pet Portraits/Sketches

One of the best parts of Journeys Art is creating custom portraits and sketches. Much care is taken to create beautiful drawings that will be cherished for years to come.

This is what you can expect from Journeys Art:

Portraits and Sketches are hand-drawn using colored pencils, graphite, charcoal, pastels and/or watercolor from a photograph. Photo(s) will be reviewed for usability upon receipt.

Portraits measure 8x10 and sketches measure 5x7 unless otherwise specified.

Portraits offer much detail with many layers to create texture, tone and value.

Sketches are headshots with details to eyes and features with line strokes to show direction of hair and shadowing. (Color is used loosely)

Initial layout will be sent for your approval.

Progress Proof is sent at the halfway point for your review.

Final Proof and invoice are sent for your final approval.

Once approved, final payment is required prior to mailing.

Each portrait/sketch is mailed in a frame. (not professionally framed)

Ordering Custom Portraits

Ordering Custom Portraits is a three-step process.

Initial Request - Once your request is received, you will receive an email requesting your photo(s) for review. This step will ensure that your photo(s) is usable to create a successful drawing. This step is provided free of charge.

Step Two - A 30% non-refundable deposit is required to reserve your commission and begin the artwork.

Step Three - The remaining 70% balance is due upon completion, prior to delivery of the final artwork. At this point, you would have received a progress proof and a finished proof for approval.
